Marketing Associate

The Face Marketing Associate position will entail working closely with the publisher to bring together all elements needed to promote the Face brand  in both its online presence and digital editions.  Work will be done in groups and virtually.  Successful candidates will be required to plan and implement marketing campaigns to maintain and grow the Facethemag.com readership.

*This is a part-time, volunteer position that will become part-time paid upon the publication turning a profit.  Accordingly, only serious applicants need apply.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Implement short and long-range strategies and plans to identify marketing opportunities and be involved in direct marketing and new project development.
· Develop marketing and communications materials.
· Effectively utilize various social media mediums (such as Facebook and Twitter).
· Develop low cost/high impact viral marketing events to promote Face.
· Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TRAITS

· A background and keen interest in marketing and communications.
· Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
· Ability to participate in groups and work individually.
· Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
· Highly organized, can multi-task and can meet deadlines

Account Executive

Face is seeking smart, analytical and ambitious business minded individuals who can work independently. The right candidates’ chief goal will be to approach businesses and other organizations about the benefits of purchasing multi-media advertising on our media platform. It is a great position for someone with a home office set-up. 20% straight commission on all closed contracts, along with quarterly bonuses. High earning potential. Rep firms are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Understanding of social media
  • Minimum 2 years of prior advertising sales
  • Proven track record in outside sales.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Effectively perform cold calls, and appointment setting.
  • Exude a professional manner and appearance.
  • Possess effective presentation, negotiation and closing skills.

Online Associate Editor

Facethemag.com seeks a Associate Editor to oversee the day-to-day running of it’s editorial department. Reporting
to the Editor-in-Chief, the Associate Editor will manage staff, budgets, and story development, establish and guide workflow, and ensure smooth and constant communication between all departments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The Associate Editor will also be responsible for assigning and editing pieces, producing stories and packages, and overseeing the development of special issues and projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

In all, a position as the Associate Editor will entail working closely with the various departments to bring together all content related elements needed for a successful web and digital edition publication. All work will be done virtually, with specified in-person meetings.

  • Required to contribute one sectional article or feature for every issue of the FTM (i.e. 4 contributions per year).
  • Remind and work with the writing staff (using emails and phone calls) to ensure all articles are handed in on time.
  • Required to collect all the article contributions from the staff and contributing writers, provide each writer with an email receipt of their contribution, then place all articles into the central database for editing and publication.
  • Be the point person for all questions from the writing staff; you will answer all questions where possible OR delegate the question to whomever is best suited to answer it; you will ensure all questions are answered (i.e. follow ups).
  • Provide the Founder/Editor-In-Chief  with weekly status updates where needed.
  • Assist the Editor-In-Chief  with ongoing strategic tasks.
  • Contribute 3 to 10 hours per week (an increase in hours will take place during the production process for quarterly digital
  • Access to Skype, familiar with web-based project management tools and CMS

Candidates must have 3+ years senior-level experience, strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, and a thorough knowledge of multicultural/ethnic topics, women issues, emerging culture, art, social issues, entertainment and fashion.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TRAITS

  • Attention to detail, highly organized and can meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Must be able to work independently and manage a large team
  • Must have strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn online collaboration applications.
  • Good judgment, creativity, self-motivation and curiosity
  • Shows initiative to discover new ways to improve the status quo
  • Access to Skype and familiar with CMS
