Writers Guidelines
Each issue and theme is determined during our editorial planning sessions. We will plan and assign throughout the year.
Face is a fashion and lifestyle magazine for emerging women. Each issue of Face breaks the monotony: we explore success, lifestyle, social issues, and cultural trends as they relate to emerging women. Face is the platform and guide for the woman who is driven to influence society; our content includes character profiles, reviews, balanced living tips, and advice for the emerging woman who defines success in her own terms.

We prefer submissions as Word attachments. Please send a 15-word biography and a hi-res head shot with your articles for the Contributor section . The word count for features is 850-1,100 words and 600-800 words for reviews. Please double-check spelling and grammar before submitting. All articles will be edited for length, grammar, content, style, and tone and they must include the authors byline in each article submitted.
Channels
- Fashion: spotlights emerging designers, trends, hidden boutiques, and features in-style tips.
- Art of Living: uncovers the artfulness of living through relationships, career, finance, and health and well-being. Includes life stories.
- Culture: delves into frank discussion about social issues, faith, world events, eccentric subcultures, destination in life, and explores how we’re all connected.
- Entertainment: examines media and includes a wide variety of books, music, film, and technology reviews that readers won’t want to miss.
Departments
· I WANT – features products specific to the issue’s theme. Products may be found locally, regionally, or nationally.
· Getaway – Highlights weekend vacations, road trips, or retreats. It features accommodation, activities, and entertainment information. Typical word count: 1,000.
· Aware – highlights a smaller newsworthy topic, typically specific to the issue’s theme. Typical word count: 350-400.
· Face Profile – Features a person and his or her journey toward success. Can also feature a mentor, someone who has achieved major success and can offer advice for others. This section will include a video when possible. Typical word count: 1,000.
· Taste - highlights restaurants, home cuisine, and food-related topics (i.e. sustainable restaurants).
Payment
Contributions to the website are on a donation basis (byline and bio are compensation).
